Privacy Policy

TENTO Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) establishes this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as this “Policy”) as follows regarding the handling of user information, including personal information about users, in the service noiz provided by the Company (hereinafter referred to as the “Service”). The meanings of terms used in this Policy shall be in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

1. User Information Collected and Collection Methods

In this Policy, “User Information” means information related to user identification, action history on communication services, and other information generated or accumulated in relation to users or users’ devices that is collected by the Company pursuant to this Policy.

The User Information collected by the Company in the Service includes the following, depending on the collection method.

(1) Information Provided by Users

Information provided by users in order to use the Service or through use of the Service is as follows.

  • Information related to account management, such as the user’s name, organization name/company name, representative name, contact person name, address/location, and date of birth (hereinafter referred to as “Account Information”)
  • Information related to contact details, such as address, telephone number, facsimile number, and email address (hereinafter referred to as “Contact Information”)
  • Information related to payment methods, such as credit card information (hereinafter referred to as “Payment Information”)
  • Information related to posted data on the Service, including audio, images, video, text, and other data (hereinafter referred to as “Posted Information”)
  • Information related to the history of login, access, browsing, actions, purchases, operations, and the like on the Service (hereinafter referred to as “Action History”)
  • Information entered or transmitted by users through input forms or other methods specified by the Company

(2) Information Provided by Other Services When Users Permit Integration with Such Other Services in Using the Service

When users permit integration with other services, such as social networking services, in using the Service, the Company collects the following information from such external services based on the details consented to at the time of such permission.

  • The ID used by the user on the relevant external service
  • Other information that the user has permitted to be disclosed to the integration destination under the privacy settings of the relevant external service

(3) Information Collected by the Company When Users Use the Service

The Company may collect information related to access to the Service and how the Service is used. This includes the following information.

  • Referrer
  • IP address
  • Information related to server access logs
  • Cookies, ADID, IDFA, and other identifiers

2. Purposes of Use

The specific purposes of use of User Information related to providing the Service are as follows.

  1. To provide, maintain, protect, and improve the Service, including accepting registrations for the Service, identity verification, user authentication, recording user settings, and calculating and settling usage fees, based on acquired Account Information, Contact Information, and the like
  2. To analyze acquired Posted Information, Action History, and the like for measuring user traffic and user behavior
  3. To analyze acquired Posted Information, Action History, and the like for improving audio and video quality in the Service, improving usability, improving user experience, feature design, integration design, creating data for machine learning, considering business models, considering business ecosystems, marketing, sales, customer success, and service design
  4. To analyze acquired Posted Information, Action History, and the like for delivering and displaying advertisements and measuring their effectiveness
  5. To provide information regarding the Service and respond to inquiries and the like, based on acquired Account Information, Contact Information, and the like
  6. To respond to acts that violate the Company’s terms, policies, and the like related to the Service (hereinafter referred to as the “Terms, etc.”), based on acquired Account Information, Contact Information, and the like
  7. To notify users of changes to the Terms, etc. related to the Service, based on acquired Account Information, Contact Information, and the like

Users may request suspension of the collection or use of all or part of their User Information by configuring the prescribed settings of the Service. In such case, the Company will promptly suspend such use in accordance with the procedures specified by the Company. Please note that, depending on the item of User Information, collection or use may be a prerequisite for the Service, and in such cases the Company will suspend such collection or use only when the user withdraws from the Service by the method prescribed by the Company.

4. External Transmission, Provision to Third Parties, and Use of Information Collection Modules

4-1 Use of Cookies

In the Service, the following partner may store Cookies on users’ devices and use them to accumulate and use User Information.

4-2 Payment Service

Payments are processed through Stripe, and the Company does not obtain complete credit card information, except for Stripe access tokens. Users shall use Stripe after agreeing to Stripe’s terms of use and privacy policy.

5. Provision to Third Parties

The Company will not provide personal information among User Information to third parties, including parties located outside Japan, without obtaining the user’s prior consent. However, this shall not apply in the following cases where provision to a third party, including a party located outside Japan, is necessary.

  1. When the Company entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use
  2. When personal information is provided in connection with business succession due to a merger or other reason
  3. When personal information is provided to a partner or information collection module provider in accordance with Section 4
  4. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national government agency, local public entity, or a person entrusted by either of them in performing affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the user’s consent may impede the performance of such affairs
  5. In other cases permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as the “Personal Information Protection Act”) or other laws and regulations

6. Personal Information Management System

6-1 Security Control Measures

The Company provides necessary and appropriate supervision of its employees to ensure the security control of personal information against risks such as loss, destruction, alteration, and leakage of personal information. In addition, when the Company entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information to a third party, the Company provides necessary and appropriate supervision to ensure the security control of personal information at the entrusted party.

6-2 Handling of Personal Information in Foreign Countries

The Company may store personal information on servers managed by business operators in foreign countries (the United States of America). In such cases, the Company will understand the systems and other matters related to the protection of personal information in the relevant foreign country and strictly manage access permissions to the servers and other matters so that the security control of personal information is ensured at the storage destination.

7. Disclosure of Personal Information

When the Company is requested by a user to disclose personal information pursuant to the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Company will confirm that the request is made by the user themselves and then disclose the information to the user without delay. If the relevant personal information does not exist, the Company will notify the user to that effect. However, this shall not apply when the Company is not obligated to disclose the information under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations. Please note that a fee of 10,000 yen per request is charged for disclosure of personal information.

8. Correction, Suspension of Use, etc. of Personal Information

8-1 Correction and Suspension of Use

If a user requests (1) correction of the content of personal information pursuant to the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act on the grounds that the personal information is not true, or (2) suspension of use of personal information pursuant to the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act on the grounds that the information is being handled beyond the scope of the purposes of use publicly announced in advance, or that it was collected by deception or other wrongful means, the Company will confirm that the request is made by the user themselves, conduct the necessary investigation without delay, and, based on the results, correct the content of the personal information or suspend its use, and notify the user to that effect. If the Company decides not to correct or suspend use, the Company will notify the user to that effect.

8-2 Deletion

If a user requests deletion of their personal information and the Company determines that it is necessary to comply with such request, the Company will confirm that the request is made by the user themselves, delete the personal information, and notify the user to that effect.

8-3 Exceptions Under Laws and Regulations

If the Company is not obligated to make corrections, etc. or suspend use, etc. under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations, the provisions of Sections 8-1 and 8-2 shall not apply.

10. Procedures for Changes to the Privacy Policy

The Company may change this Policy as necessary. However, if the Company makes changes to this Policy that require user consent under laws and regulations, the revised Policy shall apply only to users who have consented to the changes by the method prescribed by the Company.
