The admin console for managing users and schedules has been renewed. It now opens right from the noiz screen, so there is no longer any need to sign in to a separate site.
Everything you could do before — managing locations, schedules, and user/staff accounts — is still there, with a refreshed interface that is easier to read and use. We have also added a new Usage page where you can review charts of concurrent room attendance and total monthly usage hours.
noiz is now comfortable to use on phones and tablets.
On smaller screens, other tables and the chat now slide in from the side of the screen when you need them, keeping the video area wide. The buttons at the bottom of the screen also rearrange themselves to fit the screen width, so they no longer overflow out of reach. In addition, information such as user names that used to appear only when hovering with a mouse can now be viewed with a tap.
Spectator mode, which was previously available only to staff, can now be used by regular users as well. Staff switch it from the per-user menu inside the room, so a user can move between spectating and participating on the spot. Users who are switched into spectator mode see an indicator that they are currently spectating.

noiz is now version 3.0. In this major update, we have fully renewed the communication infrastructure that powers audio and video in noiz.
By leveraging a global network infrastructure, noiz is now even more stable for large classes and events. Nothing changes in how you use noiz — no special setup is required, and everything works just as before.
This new foundation also lets us ship improvements and new features faster. Stay tuned for what’s next!

Added a feature that allows advanced settings to be configured from the join dialog.
With this update, users can configure detailed settings before entering a room, such as enabling background blur before joining.
Fixed the behavior so that when screen pinning is used in megaphone mode, it is automatically applied to all tables.
Note: This is a reapplication of the April 27 update.
Added a feature that allows megaphone access to be granted to general users.
With this update, when using megaphone mode to lecture to all tables, interactions that include general users can now be broadcast to every table.
As an emergency update, we have temporarily reverted the megaphone mode screen pinning specification change released on April 27, 2026 to its previous behavior, due to a bug that was discovered after the change.
We will announce the implementation of the screen pinning feature in megaphone mode again as soon as it is ready.

The core information-processing technology behind noiz has been registered as a patent (JP Patent No. 7856290, filed March 9, 2022 / registered April 27, 2026, patent holder: TENTO Inc.).
This patent protects the technologies that power the uniquely noiz experience of recreating the natural “buzz” of a real classroom:
noiz will continue developing proprietary technology that makes online classes more lively.

Spectator mode has been enhanced. Spectators can now talk to other spectators at the same table. Additionally, admin users at the same table can now see the presence of spectators via icons.
Table settings such as table names and table messages are now preserved even after server updates, eliminating the need to reconfigure them. This will take effect from the next update.
Users can now set their own icon. It will be used as a substitute for the camera image when the camera is off, and as the icon displayed on other tables. You can upload any image to use as your icon.

We’ve added the ability for users to belong to multiple organizations. Previously, only staff users could belong to multiple organizations, but now regular users can also belong to multiple organizations. This allows, for example, the same user to participate in rooms from different schools or companies. After logging in to noiz, users can select and enter the room of their choice.
We’ve added a direct messaging feature. This allows users to communicate directly with each other, regardless of which table they’re at. For example, this is useful when you want to contact an instructor who is teaching at a different table. Direct messages can be sent by selecting a specific user as the recipient when creating a new message from the chat panel. Note that only staff users can initiate direct messages.

You can now edit the display order of tables. We’ve also fixed minor issues including the display of links in table messages.
