noiz didn't start as a business plan. It's a tool TENTO built from the ground up to bring its own programming classrooms back to life online.
It Began in a One-Room Classroom
Since 2011, TENTO has run its programming school for kids terakoya-style, like the one-room schoolhouses of old Japan. In a single room, different kids learn different things at their own pace — and it's precisely that diversity that sparks them to inspire one another. Learning is not knowledge handed down one-way from a teacher. That is TENTO's philosophy.
Then the Classroom Disappeared
When lessons moved online, that classroom vanished. Breakout rooms had no sense of the table next door, and in the silence, the spontaneous "Hey, look at this!" moments never happened. What was missing wasn't a feature — it was the atmosphere of a classroom.
Build What Doesn't Exist!
No matter how hard we searched, no existing tool could recreate that lively buzz. So we built it ourselves. noiz's structure — multiple tables with ambient chatter drifting between them — is the very structure of TENTO's classroom.

noiz is still used every week in TENTO's own classes. We keep refining it by watching how the kids respond, putting it through heavy use ourselves. Improvements born in a real classroom — and there are many more to come.
